Golomt Bank has participated for the second year in the Special Olympics Mongolia “Opportunities for All – West Region 2026” project. The convention and sports festival was held in Khovd province from May 21 to 23, bringing together children with intellectual disabilities and their support networks.
This year’s event welcomed around 160 children with intellectual disabilities from Uvs, Bayan-Ulgii, Khovd, Zavkhan, and Gobi-Altai provinces, along with their guardians. In addition, over 400 professionals, including local government representatives and specialists, participated in the program. During the event, children received medical check-ups and took part in friendly sports competitions across various disciplines.
Golomt Bank has been supporting this initiative since 2024 and continues to contribute to its development. Approximately 40 volunteers from the bank’s branches in Khovd, Bayan-Ulgii, Uvs province, and its central office in Ulaanbaatar actively participated. These volunteers spent meaningful time with the children, assisting during competitions, supporting medical screenings, helping with logistical needs, and contributing to the organization and judging process.

This marks our second year of participation, and we are pleased to expand our efforts through our Khovd, Bayan-Ulgii, and Uvs branches. This project gives children, young people, and their families a platform to connect with society and express themselves through sports.
Purpose of the Initiative
The “Opportunities for All” project aims to promote social inclusion for children, youth, and adults with special needs, support access to education and healthcare, encourage equal participation in social activities, protect rights and raise awareness among local authorities and communities, contribute to the development of inclusive policies, share best practices and successful models nationwide.
About the Special Olympics Mongolia
The Special Olympics Mongolia was established in 2013 and has since become part of the global Special Olympics movement. Today, it involves over 2,000 athletes, around 80 coaches, more than 300 volunteers and medical professionals over 1,500 parents and guardians. The organization continues to play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and promoting inclusive sports and community engagement across Mongolia.
